About the Program
Join us this summer for our 2019 Texas Reading Club. Originally designed to help children maintain their reading skills during the summer by encouraging reading: the program has expanded to include Children (ages 0-12) and teens (Ages 13-17), and adults (18+). To register, join us at the Kick-Off Party on June 1 or register online at www.MyHuntsvilleLibrary.com. For every three books read or for every library program attended, participants will receive a raffle ticket. Tickets will be used to enter for a chance to win a raffle prize of the participants choosing. While supplies last, those who read at least three books will win a prize based on age group. Prizes will vary. The theme for this year is "A Universe of Stories!".

Frequently Asked Questions
I can't come to the library very often this summer. Can I still do summer reading?
Yes, absolutely. Participants may register online. After the first 3 books are read participants may pick-up their prize at their convenience (while supplies last.) Attendance at programs is not required; but, the participant will not receive any raffle tickets for programming if they do not attend.
Can I turn in more than one reading log sheet?
This program features only one reading log sheet per person. However, a person may choose to read more books for a greater chance of reading prizes.
How will you know if my child read books appropriate for his or her reading level?
We want to celebrate the accomplishments of every reader. We trust the judgement of the parent, caregiver, or guardian to select books appropriate for their child's reading level. Remember, the goal is to maintain children's reading skill during the summer.
What counts as reading?
Listening to audiobooks, reading comic books, novels, picture books, or being read to--it’s all up to you. Our only request is that the reading must be done between June 1 and July 19. You can re-read a favorite as long as it is during this time.
For the raffle, if my family member wins a prize, does that make me ineligible to win?
No, having a family member win a prize does not make a person ineligible to win.
What if I read a number of items that are not divisible by three
Raffle tickets are awarded after the third item is read. A person in this situation has two options, they may either accept 6 raffle tickets or may read two more books to receive 7 raffle tickets.
Is a Huntsville Public Library card required for participation?
A library or PC Only card is required for adults to participate. Children and teens may use their own card or that of their parent or guardian.
