Each year, the Huntsville Public library participates in the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP), a program designed to keep kids reading throughout the summer. Children (ages 0-12) and Teens (Ages 13-17) who turn in completed logs will receive a prize packet of coupons to local Huntsville restaurants, a free book sponsored by the Huntsville Kiwanis, and a ticket to enter our raffle to win even more exciting prizes. Adults (ages 18+) can also participate by playing Book Squares to receive a chocolate bar and a raffle ticket for the Adult Summer Reading grand prize. The theme for this year is "Libraries Rock".

How does the Book Squares Log work?
The Book Squares Reading Log is a 6-by-6 grid with various challenges in each one. Some challenges may include age-appropriate writing or art prompts. Participants complete the Book Squares challenge by filling in 6 squares in a row in any direction. The reading logs are divided up into 0 to 4-year-olds, 5 to 8-year-olds, 9 to 12-year-olds, Teens, and Adults.
Each child who signs up for Summer Reading will get a Treasure Chest sheet. This sheet has a list of activities, and if the child completes all the activities, they are eligible to pick a prize from the Treasure Chest. Download the sheet here.
